Heading (Headline) Elements
(<H1>...<H6>)

Headings are used to break up your webpage into distinct key sections (chapters).

Line Break Elements
(<br>)

Line breaks are used to break to a new line of text with in a block, such as a paragraph. In Word, these would be called line breaks (SHIFT+ENTER).

HTML Entities

Entities allow us to display special charactors on our webpage. For instance, there are entities for ©, ™, ¥, and non-breaking  space.

Block vs Inline Elements

Block Elements

A block element sperates itself from surrounding content, creating a space both abover and below it. By defualt, two block elements will appear one on top of the other

Paragraphs are block elements. Other block elements include: H1...H6 HEADER, FOOTER, P, DIV, UL, OL, LI, SECTION, NAV, ARTICLE, ASIDE, and others

Inline (Phrase) Elements

Inline elements are often, but not always, used within block elements. Inline elements by default, will display side-by-side, in a line

Common inline elements include: SUP, SUB, A, IMG, EM, STRONG, and others.

Semantic HTML Elements

Common semantic STRUCTUAL elements include: HEADER, FOOTER, MAIN, NAV, SECTION, ARTICLE, ASIDE, FIGURE, and FIGCAPTION.

Hyperlinks are created with anchor tags, the < A> element.
